Fe and Scott's Harvey Enduro Ride Report

Scott's version
Good challenge, nice spread of terrain types, well done to T&E club (man of few words!)

Fe's version
Hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Yes I finished, can't believe it. Even came in on my minute laps 3 and 4 but like Jaybo said they did give extra time because of the conditions. Felt like I was going to die on loop 4, had to ride slow enough that I knew I wouldn't drop my bike because if I had I wouldn't haven't been able to pick it up!!! There was another girl, Bronwyn but unfortunately she pulled out after 2 laps. Despite this, she is a fantastic rider with a great attitude and im looking forward to riding with her at collie cross country. I am still finding it hard to pace myself and definitely in need of a few more hours in the gym, my upper body stills feels very weak!

All in all, fantastic day and big thanks to all the organisers and volunteers at T&E club.

Kevs version on Harvey enduro. Was down the with young Bart and Iccas. I would say was a pretty hard enduro. Came through most loops with 10 or 15 to spare but was riding reasonably hard through the trails. Very sore this morning, a couple of suspect ribs after a big get off in 4th gear on the 3rd loop. Well done to the T&E club for a well marked out and great enduro.

JayBo's version

Just a quick note because I'm sore - "monkey butt" hasn't caused me any problems before (probably because of liberal use of rectinol?) but bit me good today so I can't sit at the PC too long!

Good to meet a few "new to me" CQ riders down at Harvey. Thanks Fiona for ably delivering my nice orange sticker. As soon as I have spare time to clean the back end of the camper the sticker will go up.

The event was great. Trail times were reasonable without being "harsh tight" or "lazy loose". They needed a good pace and constant attention to leave you time for fuel, drink, a snack, goggle clean and a brief socialise/walk. Any relaxing on the trail and you had to start giving things up from the list.

I was happy with my riding except for in the tests. I managed to srop it in test 1 and 3 so only test two was done upright. Not pretty but I had fun plus. :-)

The course was two loops with 1 and 3 being just under an hour (0:56) of fairly open and fast trails. Lots of fun! Loops 2 and 4 were well over an hour (1:18) and much tighter with lot's of well placed rocks - I suspect all sponsored by Michelin Mousse inserts! It was a fairly tough course and my damaged shoulder is fair smarting at the moment. All the rocks, logs, whoops and constant corners sure made the shoulders work!

Anyway, hopefully someone else will post up other views. When I was seen talking to Fiona someone asked me "who was that you were talking to" so I mentioned Crusty Quinns. He mentioned that he'd heard of them from somewhere. He was the president of Motorcycling WA for the last few years! We're getting to the big time!
