Report by Col.

After watching the long range forecast and the constant threats of rain leading up to the weekend, 16 riders turned out for a very dusty ride. Pounce nailed it again and lead us on a ride of over 100 km's of the what has turned out to be some of the best trails Perth has to offer. After many bumpy rides up and down the infamous Power Lines manourvering through heavily rutted and well used 4 x 4 tracks, Pounce strapped on his GPS and went exploring. What he found was very unexpected however shows what a little patience can provide. We now know it as the Pounce Lines.

John has also spent plenty of time in the area and lead the pack in the spots in new best. Between these two guys we were privilaged to be part of an excellent ride with a few challenges for some, an off or two for others and big smiles for the rest. Three new riders cam along today. Two had contacted me duing the week and another just happend to be getting fuel to go for a ride and decided to join in.
The third guy Spencer was having some trouble staying upright and after a few nice dismounts secured the SOTD award with a big off into a large grass tree and a swollen wrist to add to his list of injuries. The other two, Sideshow Bob and Tommy fitted in well, took their turns amoungst the group and appeared to fit the Crusty profile pretty well.

Beau was chasing extra points today as well with an off or two of his own. Roley found the deep way through a mud hole, the hard way up an hill climb and the slow way around every corner. ( Not bad for an old bastard). David had a go at a muddy water crossing and also came down. He didn't lose his bike this time with is very unussual.

There were a few tricky bits today and it is fantastic to see guys helping riders who get into a bit of trouble. Well done to everyone who jumped off their own bike and went to the rescue of another.

Well done again to Pounce and John and hope you all enjoyed the ride as much as I did back there looking after sweep today.
