Ride report by Col
 The oldest CQer knocks up 100 rides. Roley was itching for a ride as it was all he needed to knock up 100 CQ events. Not bad for the oldest active CQer. With the lack of rain throughout the week we thought it better to head up the coast rather than fight the heavy dust of the hills when things are warm.  This is realy for Col Mac but it can also be for anyone that didn't turn up!!!! Only 5 CQers turned up for the ride. Others were prepping bikes for next week's big Capel ride, some were doing what their wives had planned for them and some were probably just having a lay in. Haydn took the lead ride and lead the small group down through the inland tracks, up that lovely fast flowing tracks, across to Wedge and home again. For a job well done you picked up ROTD mate. There was plenty of wild life to weave in and out of today. Haydn was breaking up the herds of roos up front however by the time we caught up they were trying to reform their groups and began crossing in front of us following. Pete said he had a few close calls only missing them by centimetres. On the inland trails I had one jump into me at the brow of a hill and knock me off at slow speed. The roo didn't hurt but I knew Roley wasn't far behind and that scared the crap out of me. With only a small group the packed moved along fairly quickly although regroups still took a while waiting for Pete who was riding sweep LOL. Roley got on the gas a couple of times and gave me something to chase. Steve rode steady all day and was seen heading bush a couple of times after misjudging a corner. Not a bad days ride and back to the pie shop by 12.00 for a feed of good old fashion pastry, cream, sugar and milk drinks. True health nuts we are.      |
