Report by Pounce.

Col Mc was looking to blag a ride on a big Husaberg, so he called a ride for the back tracks out past Lancelin.

6 guys turned up, but alas we were short said Husaberg. 8.30 came around and just as we were taking off 2 more arrived. The bakery beckoned them on the way in but we weren't going to wait so Andrew & Allan said they'ld catch us up.

Off we go with Col in the lead & Pounce sweeping & not more than 500 metres into the ride, we meet "Angry Dude"! One of those close tight corners just past the dunes and he's stopped in the middle of the road hurling abuse at Pete as Pete moved off the right hand side of the road to let him through. "unregoed, unlicensed dickheads, it's a $150 fine, blah, blah, blah. I think each of us told him to get something f related. Hence one of the reasons we encourage licensed/regoed bikes, so knobs like that can't do nowt about us.

Anyway, onto the check point, hard right then we're into it. The tracks were damp, and grippy, better than hot and boggy. Everyone was having a ball along there. No dust, quick & tight corners, those sneaky bastard drop offs, squadron after squadron of kangaroos, (apparently, I only saw one all day).

Quick stop while Pete adjusted his gear lever, new boots didn't fit under it, then onto the time trial area leading out to the quick bits Col loves best.

Scooting along the tracks out towards the mine road, Michael couldn't decide to go left or right at a fork in the trail, so the bike decided for him and dug it's front wheel in and chucked him end over end into the boggy sand (where we normally turn around) at about 90kph. As we're trying to sort him out, Allan (Ambo) & Andrew arrive. He always seems to have to tend to one of the boys out along those tracks, thanks. Nothing too dramatic, just a well jarred collarbone but Michaels in a bit'o'pain so it's in with the pain killers, sort the CRF out (possible busted radiator) and we decide to cut it short and head back via the main track.

On the way back, Pete, Mick and me have a bit of a bike swapping party. Jeez I love the KLX! Someone give me 10k so I can get one??? (with some back brakes though)

Everyone got back to the carpark safely, having to dodge 4WD's by the thousands on the way, they were everywhere today.

We only clocked up 80 something klm's, but it was a fun ride nonetheless.

Michael couldn't get out of SOTD and at the bakery, a quick discussion over a pie or two, it was decided Carlo deserved ROTD as he has improved considerably since he first joined us less than 12 months ago. No wog boy, you really derserve it, it's not a sympathy vote either.

Thanks for the ride fellas, always appreciated and fun.

Adendum: Chocko, are you ever going to ride the new bike? We missed our dark friend out there today.

Adendum 2:
I would like to say thankyou to the guys for helping me today. For sorting out the bike and cutting the ride short to escort me back to the car. The trip back for me was longest 40 km I have done.

YES I have broken my left collar bone, you should see the xray. Spent three hours at the hospital.

The doctor advise that I should stay of my bike for at least 6 weeks. Michael.
