Ride Report: Baboons Old Farts Metro Trail Ride

Well Peter called a ride for Metro but the weekend turned out to be one of the busiest CQ weekend ever, with a range of options to choose from! Well we preferred to make that interpretation of the situation with only Steve joining us, otherwise we might have thought we simply have no friends! Colin made some lame excuse about renos on his house and prepping his DRZ for the Australian Safari Tag-a-long ride!

The conditions were prefect with recent heavy rain and puddles everywhere! However, after booting up, my DRZ refused to fire on the button or on the kick start! The only thing that worked was a bump start. Well this proved to be a challenge as every time we stopped we could only get it going with a down hill bump start. This proved to be my undoing in the goat tracks where I stalled taking on a rocky incline! No amount of attempts to kick start it, bump start or even a tow start worked. That's it I am stuffed and pissed off. Peter and Steve manage to tow it onto open ground while I recovered my composure! We then bump started it and headed back to the cars. We only managed about 60 kms including transitioning on Metro Road but it was still a great day. Sure beats being at home doing chores!

There were riders everywhere on the day and even though we had the recent RTRA big clean up there was still some new litter around in the main parking spot - even with the RTRA signage! Some people just don't get it!
