Wet the bubs head ride
Ride Report The call was made by Andy on Friday for an OVT run at 8am Saturday morning with fudge confirming straight away and myself (CRF Andrew) only deciding at 7.30 Saturday morning after puling out of adventure ride. I leave home at 7.40 on the drz for a 25km ride to the ovt (a bit cold) to arrive at 8. Fudge and Andy on his new wr250 (tigers old one) are ready to go. A quick splash of fuel, let the tyres down for me and where off. Firstly heading off to the rtra area for some tight trails and some rocky over grown trails all done with no real problems. We decide ot move on and though some nice whooped out sections. Andy is starting like the power and weight and suspension of his new ride, I think today was a test day for andy and his WR. We had done the whoops - Pass. Rocky tight trails - Pass. It was now time to find some water for the water test- Fail. Only a stall in the middle so not too bad. Fudge and I don't want to get wet so we move on. Andy knows that area quite well and we head off to some hill climbs in the quarries where wr passes easily. I decide to give the hill a miss as half worn road knobbies tyres and no body armour doesn't mix with rocky hills. Fudge gives it a good go but got stuck up near the top and goes for bit of a roll. But no injuries only a broken indicator. Few more hill climbs on the way out and we head for some good single trails. Then off to the ridge line for the normal run. By now its almost 12 and time to head back. We miss most of the whoops on the way back to the ovt the last 5km on the bitumen. All up a great ride at good pace with no real hold ups. 75km of ride . 125km door to door We get back to ovt only to find cass there with stubbies in hand for our well earned thirst.
