Ride Report 31/8/13
Wet Wet Wet Riders: Andy400, Fudge, MitchJ, WRLindsay The plan was to head down and across the river and see what we could find. Sounded good but a fair bit of water when we arrive. A quick and unconvincing toe test by Andy and a rethink is required. This way -> then becomes the day’s mantra and for most of the ride I don’t think any of us really knew where we were. There’s water pretty much everywhere and the damp trails are fantastic. Mud eventually finds us and provides a bit more humour. Short legs aren’t handy in these situations and Fudge steps off into a deeper than expected hole and gets up close and personal with the frogs – just to ensure he was wet and dirty enough. Back at the cars by 12, Fudge needs be to be at work and Mitch is happy to call it a day. Andy and Lindsay decide the conditions are just too good and a bit more -> was required to finish the day. They were right. All of us spent time on our bum at some stage today but no one slid more regularly and gracefully than Mitch and therefore deserves the SOTD point. Well done Andy thanks for cutting the trail all day and especially when the trail often disappeared on us. And not just because it’s Father’s Day you get ROTD.       |
