Stainos forrest flow tour.
Gmac, Staino and I arrive at west coast trailrider safaris after an over night stay in donnybrook. Many beers and a ripper pepper steak is the perfect trail ride prep.
Unload, suit up and riders brief done and we were away by 8.30, what followed was approximately 4 hours and 90ks of the best gravel tracks linked up by single tracks with log hops and creek crossings. No water and plenty of dust didn't dampen all the riders enthusiasm, we were all having a ball.
It really is a ride for everyone. There was a father and son and the boy was on his L's. The exuberance of youth is hard to keep up with.
It was fast at the front end and cruisey at the back. The corner man system working to perfection.
Lunch at Nannup, top burger watching rally cars prepping for their stages. Refuel and were off again.
Off to the old golf coarse, I've always said a golf coarse would be perfect for dirt bikes .......and I was right!
Quick stop to watch a couple of rally cars fly past at a godzilian mph.
It was off on the trek back to base in a totally different direction. Lots of pine plantations and some more slower technical riding. And log hops. I have never hopped over so many logs in my life......great practice. After so many you just smash into them and your over...sort of.
Another 70 ks and we were back at base and every one was spent. Gear off , load up and a beer was a perfect ending to a huge days riding. Following, John, who is so fast! and makes it look easy when you feel like your on the ragged edge and he's is standing up the whole time, your doing your best trying to keep him in sight.
160 ks down there is a huge ride and possible by all levels of rider ability. I had a fantastic weekend .
I need to take the kids out riding for a while to topup the brownie points. Ha ha
