Ride report: eastern hills 23.09.2015
We agreed to meet at a 'we've got kids and responsibilities' start time of 0830. Players were acid gloves eddy, Thomas, scratch, and two new ring ins, Nathan and Blake who assured me they would join Crustys as soon as they got home :-P. By the time we got sorted it was around 0900. Sad to say that it is already drier than a nuns $&@? out there. Warm, dusty and sweaty too. Took Thomas' preferred loop out and found that without rain, the pea gravel is already staring to break up. Slippery makes for fun though and I'm sure we were all having a ball. There's a ball buster of a hill about half way along one of the creek beds. I don't even know if it leads anywhere as I've never made it to the top. Blake had a few red hot cracks at it to no avail. A valiant effort non the less. No stacks. Rider of he day (and sweep) goes to Thomas who was ever reliable with precise directions when my lack of exposure led to the inevitable "left or right" question. Nearly home and ran into a film crew doing a 4wd segment. They asked us to do a couple of leisurely passes for their camera which we obliged. No idea what show it even was. Keep your eye out for another mid week ride soon or call one yourself :-) |
