Darin put the hook in the water for a ride earlier in the week with limited success, I was keen so then there were two. Turns out there was some odd ball game happening on Saturday. So we met at the Rock Inn just before 8. We decided to hang around until 8 just in case we had any stragglers rock up for a ride. Just as well we did as old mate Acid gloves showed up at the last minute, so then there were three. A short drive to the parking spot, suited and booted and we were on our way by 8.30.

Straight into some deep pee gravel whoops to get the heart pumping, just as well Darin remembered to fit his pace maker…. I mean heart monitor. Dodge a few massive puddles, no Hooters! so we manage to stay fairly dry. A couple of short detours and Darrin resurrected some old single track with awesome gully’s and steep technical climbs to liven things up. Plenty of fast flowing tracks followed by a quick stop to admire some bright yellow fields and get a snap shot for the photo album. I think Acid gloves may be wanted by the law as he wouldn’t pose for the photo and didn’t even want his bike in shot! A short run on to the servo for some refreshments, no hugging the pie warmer or flooding the shop this time! Chains tightened up and we are on our way again. Similar trails on the way back with a bit less single track as the legs were getting a bit weary. Finish off with whoops city, seems like they have got twice as deep as they were 2 hours ago. Back to the cars all done and dusted by 2pm, 165k’s in the book. Awesome ride, no spills. I’m a bit worried about the dust that is starting to appear, time to practice the rain dance. Well lead Darrin, cheers guys, see you next time.
JB

Great report JB,
Thanks for rocking up and sweeping/leading. Eddie would have seriously annoyed me if it was just him and I.
The quickest Bannister run I have done, no regrouping, even changing direction, I didn't need to stop, as I new you were there.
Perfect conditions with just a puff of dust here or there.
Darin
