A couple of us discussed a mid week ride and Mickal came up with a northern hills plan, it was all started as my mate Jason was on leave from fifo work and off at the same time as junior and I - that plan got caught up in the virus an Jason bolted back to work. Anyway the ride was posted an snow balled from 3 to 11! Not bad for a Friday, the weather was perfect cool and damp. Mickal lead with Jacko sweeping and junior on his new 300 that he’d be hiding in his shed for weeks, he tossed it in the car park while warming it up - just to break it in you understand! Nice trails over the road, the wind was kind and mostly blowing the dust away, although the gravel was dry loose an unforgiving. The first hill boiled a few kettles and the fresh air pungent with glycol, and man sweat. We follow some sweet trails tried a few dead end options and back across the road we went. More of the usual trails a few spills, I went down hard, thank jeebus for decent body armour or I woulda had a busted rib or two- Junior’s fault of course. Bike Mad the new guy on a shiney new drz400 was throwing it around like a 300, but I saw the yellow beast having a lay down or two. Awesome day out couple cold beers after, perfect.

Thanks everyone who turned up for the today's ride, eleven riders turning out for a Friday ride in 30 degree heat is a good effort. Jnr kicked of the day by deciding to flip his brand new 300 in the carpark to rough it up a bit? Then after a team meeting we decided to go anti clockwise which meant going up the gnarly hill and so we headed off south. We then checked out a couple of new single trax/kangaroo trails that went nowhere then did a virgin bush run along a deep ravine which got a bit ugly due to the dry conditions, but as usual everyone helped out and we pressed on. By this time it was starting to get F&$#ing Hot. We got to the gnarly hill which I cocked up by going up the wrong line, fortunately JNR followed me so we both got watch Zane cruise up the right way on his yellow tractor. No need to worry about the new guy. We did find one new single but it didn't seem to go anywhere. From there 2 riders pealed off and the rest did the north loop but everybody was totally shagged with the heat so we took the quick option home to sink a couple of beers. Good day out but bring on the rain.
