With all this global warming shit happening these days when it eventually rains it would be a crime not to call a ride, so after a week of solid rain the plan was to meet at the lakes at 8:00 Saturday to have some fun in the mud. We had 6 riders plus 2 late entries from Jed and Pounce which made 8. We hadn’t done a ride out east for a couple of years so we drove out to the eastern boundary to the parking spot and then hit some tracks and creek runs expecting the worst. Turns out it wasn’t that sloppy at all and it was pretty much perfect conditions. The first creek run was awesome and then after about 30klms we stopped so all the two strokes could fill up and get rid of the fuel out of their backpacks.
Macca’s mate Des topped up his 300 then walked away but unfortunately forgot to put his fuel cap back on, but with the moist ground his side stand collapsed and the bike fell over (SOTD) and started to spill fuel out everywhere. Everybody just stood there and watched in horror but luckily Jed who was the closest Crusty to the disaster was straight onto it, he quickly drained the contents of his vape tank, drank the rest of his Iced Coffee and then quickly strolled over and picked the bike up while only managing to lose 5 or 6 litres. Crisis averted.
All good so then we hit the usual central single tracks that I never get tired of riding because it really doesn’t get any better, then we got onto some other less familiar tracks and my lazy BaseCamp skills started to become a bit of a problem and Pounce had to bail me out a few times with directions, hence ROTD.
Then we headed home and did some sandy single to finish off and ended up with 103klms on the clock. Beers and a chat, perfect day out.
